On 21st December 2022, South Somerset District Council granted full planning permission for 30 new homes in South Petherton, Somerset.
The planning application was validated in October 2020 and was caught by the phosphate issue currently affecting the planning system in Somerset. To provide nutrient neutrality therefore, mitigation measures were required. To achieve this, a combination of fallowing an off-site parcel of land and the fitting of water saving devices to a number of existing properties was proposed and accepted.
The proposed dwellings will provide much-needed affordable homes and will be delivered to Passivhaus standards.
